House Information

Mount St Joseph is divided into six Houses, each with six Homerooms. Each Homeroom is streamed vertically and is under the care of two pastoral care teachers. The homerooms are under the care of a House Coordinator who continues to work with that House during the tenure of their appointment to ensure continuity for students and parents.

A spirit of compassion and reverence for all persons is evident in our school. This is largely the result of the emphasis placed on the pastoral care of our students, staff and parents. The school employs a full time School Counsellor to help address many of the daily issues and problems affecting the lives of our students and their families.

The school's Pastoral Care and Discipline programme encourages the development of self-discipline by placing on the student, the responsibility for acceptable behaviour.

Emphasis is placed on the student's need to face the consequences of her actions and the need to respect the dignity of the individual at all times.

The Pastoral Care personnel provide for the development of leadership skills and support for students through specific programmes such as Peer Support, Rainbows and Protective Behaviours
